Water Baptism
We follow the after the Apostles and the way they followed after what Jesus taught. They were the eyewitnesses afterall and Jesus picked these men of strong constitutions for a reason.
The book of Acts in every instance, the apostles baptized in Jesus name.
Immediately after explaining the plan of salvation in the 38th verse of acts in the 39th verse of the 2nd chapter of Acts, Peter said
“this promise is unto you and your children and to all them that are afar off.”
It is not for just a certain time period but rather a generation after generation promise. This means it is meant for you and me.
- Acts 2:38
- Matthew 28:19
- Acts 4:12
Not only was water baptism established, but it was to be done in the name of Jesus.
Understandest what thou readest?
This is the question that Phillip asked the eunuch in the book of Acts. His answer is like most of us. “How can I except some man should guide me?” If you feel a little overwhelmed by what you’re reading in the bible, then come to one of our weekly Bible studies or schedule a time for us to come to you.
